A
quick introduction to some up and coming ski villages. Sainte Foy is also extending the lift system, creating new pistes and extending its snow making facilities. It is also ideally positioned as a base to visit the resorts of Val d'Isere, Tignes, Les Arcs and La Rossiere for which there is a discount on a days skiing with the 6 day Ste Foy ski pass. I highly recommend this ski resort and will be keeping a close eye on its exciting future. If you are looking to buy in the French Alps then Sainte Foy is well worth investigating, please contact me if you would like further information on property in Sainte Foy. |

An
often overlooked choice for a ski holiday is to stay in one of the villages
near to the well known ski resorts, most of them have lift access and
the ski companies operating from these ski villages usually provide time
tabled minibuses to drop you at the slopes to suppliment the free ski
bus service. Such
villages include: Villaroger, a hamlet near to Sainte Foy that has a lift link into Les Arcs. Bride les Bains, a pretty spa town linked by a 6 person bubble into Meribel, this town is popular all year and well known for its hot baths and Casino. |

Les Allues is the first mountain town you see on your way up to Meribel, a lovely original Savoyarde village with narrow streets, beautifull old barns (many coverted into luxurious accommodation) and other properties run by the owners or small friendly ski companies aswell as self catered accommodation. The village has 4 bars, 5 restaurants and 1 hotel, there is a newsagent, mini supermarket and a sports shop for your ski/snowboard hire and clothing etc. The Olympic bubble joins Les Allues to the ski area and there is a free bus service from the top of the village to Meribel and the other villages in this valley. Please contact me if you would like information on property for sale in Les Allues. |

Chandon
is the next village up the mountain, smaller than Les Allues it has
mainly original buildings with a few luxurious chalets that have a minibus
service to the slopes and back, although it is usually possible to ski
back here for the whole season. Please contact me if you would like information on property for sale in Chandon and Raffort. |

Another
village worth mentioning is Meribel Village which has its own lift access
upto Meribel Altiport and ski run back. 1 bar, 2 restaurants and mini
supermarket. Some old buildings but mainly purpose built apartments and
chalets but not an ugly place, ideal for drivers staying in one of the
villages to park and use the lift, avoiding the centre of Meribel. There are many more and they will be added as soon as we have researched them. |
